The Ellis Park Precinct and Emirates Airline Park have been rejuvenated ahead of the Rugby Championships match on Saturday.
Joburg’s mayor cut the ribbon, so to speak, on a revitalised Ellis Park Precinct ahead of the Springboks and All Blacks rugby match on Saturday.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Dada Morero identified how infrastructure and facilities had been repaired, cleaned and returned to working order over the past few months.

The City of Joburg has deployed multi-disciplinary teams to clean up the Ellis Park precinct ahead of this weekend’s top rugby match.
This comes as a spotless Berea and Ellis Park precinct have sparked curiosity among Joburgers on social media who, after seeing posts and videos of the precinct, marvelled at the make-over.
However, this is according to the City of Joburg, part of the Urban East area undergoing a significant transformation as the city prepares to host a major international rugby test match at Emirates Airline Park on Saturday.

Boks game scores a big fix for eastern Johannesburg
I drive on the Joe Slovo highway off-ramp heading to the east of Joburg with gritted teeth and biting my lip. Once, taking an Uber to Victoria Yards in Lorentzville, the driver, who hadn’t been there before, told me on Bertrams Road, “This place looks like that war place.”
Meet the new man on the ground!
The Rosebank and Lower Rosebank Districts have appointed LocalAbode to take over the management of the precincts effective 1st September 2022.
Basil Ngakane has been assigned by the LocalAbode management team to run the precincts day to day operations. Basil has been working in the precinct management industry for a number of years and has extensive experience in dealing with the public space and working with key stakeholders and communities.
The LocalAbode management team is further comprised of two senior managers Mikhaela Donaldson and Stephen du Preez who support Basil in the day to day running of the precincts and the company management of the respective entities.
Rosebank welcomes mayor to the precinct

Issues which include transport challenges and safety in parks of Rosebank were highlighted when the mayor visited the precinct.
The Rosebank Management District (RMD) welcomed the City of Johannesburg Executive Mayor Dr Mpho Phalatse on a walkabout.
The walkabout on August 22 was an opportunity to find ways in which the district could partner with the municipality to tackle key issues in the precinct.

Tshwane - Property management company City Property is spearheading a project to clean up the area next to Nelson Mandela Drive in the city.
Early this morning City Property kicked off an initiative to clean the area on Nelson Mandela Drive between Pretorius and Johannes Ramokhoase Streets, and along the Apies river.
