Our Johannesburg sites are located within the CBD. As a result we have a strong established working relationship with various property owners, stakeholders and service delivery entities within this environment.

We are currently working with a number of property owners within the Johannesburg and Tshwane metros to identify and establish further Managed Areas.

The CID, RID and SWID were all established in 1998 and were some of the first City Improvement Districts established in Johannesburg. These districts have ensured the retention of major corporate and retail businesses. The services provided by the districts are essential to protecting against decay and degradation, as the City’s service delivery entities have had increasingly limited capacity to address the most basic services.​

 

The TID is situated in the public transport hub of the inner city and was established in 2022 this new district is focused on addressing issues of illegal dumping, informal trader management and service delivery collapse.

  • Areas of interest include the Kerk Street Linear Market, Ernest Oppenheimer Park, Anstey’s heritage building and several Government offices.

SOUTH WESTERN IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT

The SWID comprises two operational areas. In 2025, the SWID expanded northward, providing cleaning and urban management services to the FNB Bank City Precinct.

  • 13 Public Space Security Personnel — day shift

  • 4 Public Space Security Personnel — night shift

  • 2 Supervisors and 31 Cleaners

  • Notable property owners include Standard Bank, FNB, JHB Land, Anglo, Delta Property Fund, CBD Investments, City Property and OPH.

  • Areas of interest include the Rand Club, Mining District, Main Street Mall, Lit District, Mapungubwe Hotel, various cafés and eateries, and several Government offices.

    Managed in partnership with Urban Space Management.

We have fostered working relationships with senior administrative and political heads within the CoJ to ensure that we are able to escalate critical concerns of our clients as well as identify opportunities for public private partnerships.

In September 2020 Hillbrow Improvement District and Ekhaya Neighbourhood joined together to create the Hillbrow Ekhaya Improvement District.

Registered in June 2024, the Fourways Improvement District is currently under establishment.

 

The district will look to create safe corridors along the key connector routes in the node being Witkoppen Rd, Cedar Rd and Winne Mandela Dr.

 

The district will be launched late 2024.
